We are into our third week of plumbing pipes being relined. Talk about a mess. No water from 8am to 3pm. Five to seven people coming in out our home all day…no privacy! Well, Murphy is being our silent partner this week. Plumbers are relining our pipes in Laguna Woods Village and water is going to be off most of the time, during the day, over the next 2 weeks. And folks… that means we have NO bathroom privileges between 8am and 4pm.

We would love to spend some time out doors but with the temperature is hitting 101 degrees. Standing out in the heat and melting is not an option.

Guess we will be going to a lot of movies at the Aliso Viejo or Laguna Woods Theaters. It’s cool in there and they have lots of toilets.

Exercise…I have a love hate relationship with it. I work out and you know how you can plateau and not drop an ounce. After working out today I thought I had finally broken the plateau because my sweatpants were so much looser…..then I realized they had just come untied. Oh well, for a minute I was on top of the world!

So we went to San Francisco at 4:30 in the morning. By the time we arrived, nothing was open. As I recall, we wound up at DiMaggio’s restaurant. I told them our story, and, they took pity on us and got us something to eat.

The next morning back down the 101 highway.

There used to be a stretch of road that is pretty barren, near Paso Robles, so my husband put the petal to the metal. Telephone poles were moving past us so fast, they looked like a picket fence.

Coming toward us on the opposite side of the highway was a cop who slammed on his breaks… turned around… crossed over the middle North / South open area, and initiated chase.

We weaved in and out of big truck rigs, but he finally caught up to us and pulled us over. He walked up and said “Damn it took me 45 minutes to catch you what’s the rush”. My husband said my wife is sick and we are trying to get to the next town…..I don’t think he bought the story because we still got a ticket.

Great memories… NOW back to cleaning.
