So we went to San Francisco at 4:30 in the morning. By the time we arrived, nothing was open. As I recall, we wound up at DiMaggio’s restaurant. I told them our story, and, they took pity on us and got us something to eat.
The next morning back down the 101 highway.
There used to be a stretch of road that is pretty barren, near Paso Robles, so my husband put the petal to the metal. Telephone poles were moving past us so fast, they looked like a picket fence.
Coming toward us on the opposite side of the highway was a cop who slammed on his breaks… turned around… crossed over the middle North / South open area, and initiated chase.
We weaved in and out of big truck rigs, but he finally caught up to us and pulled us over. He walked up and said “Damn it took me 45 minutes to catch you what’s the rush”. My husband said my wife is sick and we are trying to get to the next town…..I don’t think he bought the story because we still got a ticket.
Great memories… NOW back to cleaning.
