September is winding down and we celebrated one evening by going to a Biker Bar. What a hoot, all you can eat spaghetti and a great band. By the looks of the 30 bikes parked outside I would say these bikers are on the wealthier side. I imagine these scruffy guys worn suits during the week. So much fun, can’t wait to go back. Well, another week has flown by and it is briefly feeling like fall is right around the corner. Kalua Pig is one of my favorite Hawaiian treats and we got to enjoy it with friends Saturday night. Typical Hawaiian plate is Kalua pig, sticky white rice, macaroni salad, poi and haupia for desert. It was like a walk down memory lane from when the four of us lived in the islands. We dressed in our vintage A!oha silkies and flip flops and automatically pigeon became the language!!!!!

‘Unlucky’ Friday
For hundreds of years Friday the 13th has been considered unlucky or even evil. No one really know for sure how it got started.

In Britain, Friday was once known as Hangman’s Day because it was usually when people who had been condemned to death would be hanged, I guess that does make that person’s day unlucky.

The full moon can makes some agitated and Friday the 13th with a full moon at the same time makes superstitious people even more uneasy. Next week is the 18th Anniversary of 9-11 and let us not forget we lost almost 3000 people that day. They were not all Americans, there were many from other countries who suffered along with us. It is a day we will never forget where we were when it happened, nor should we. My heart goes out to the families of those lost and to the families that have first responders that survived and have been greatly affected.
